Design competition for 9/11 Memorial on Staten Island

    Monument in memory of fallen Staten-Island residents.

  • CONCEPT:

    Proposed black granite memorial wall with engraved names of those lost in the tragedy. 267 square voids at the left side of each individuals’ name to allow placement of flowers and candles. 150 foot long stainless steel arcs spanning from the grass. At the center of the composition, 20 foot high glaring clear glass sculptures to create the effect of the towers’ mirage under the rainbow when positioned over the Manhattan skyline.
